About Us

Abtrace is a venture-backed health tech company that creates digital health software to deliver population health interventions at the level of the individual patient. Our product continuously scans the entire health record of a patient to detect signals of deterioration, early onset of new disease and opportunities for preventative interventions.

We work with over 400 primary care practices covering over 4 million patients, and we’re expanding our customer base rapidly.

We have offices in London, UK and Porto, PT. We operate a hybrid working model and some of our team are fully remote. For this role we will give preference to candidates that can spend regular time collocated at one of our office locations.

Your Role

We are looking for a Senior Designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and collaborates confidently with users, product managers, policy experts, and developers. In this role, you’ll design and improve services and products that are inclusive, effective, and deliver outstanding user experiences.

The ideal candidate will have experience in service design and user research, alongside strong UI/UX design skills for web, mobile, and desktop solutions.

You’ll be confident using tools like Figma and comfortable working from early discovery through to delivery.

  • Map and design end-to-end user journeys and service blueprints that improve how services work in practice
  • Design user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that show how users interact with systems across platform
  • Create graphic interface elements and visual design solutions that support a consistent, accessible experience
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to shape roadmaps and priorities
  • Facilitate co-design workshops and service mapping sessions with users and teams
  • Continuously measure impact of designs based on usability testing, design metrics, and product outcomes

  • Skilled in wireframing, prototyping, and UI/UX design
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design

  • Strong knowledge of Figma and other design and collaboration tools

Research and strategy:

  • Proven ability to carry out user research and turn insights into actionable improvements
  • Ability to map and communicate complex systems and services
  • Good commercial understanding, delivering impactful user experiences while contributing to the company's key performance indicators

Collaboration and leadership:

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to bring people together around design decisions
  • Curious, evidence led, and pragmatic. Able to balance rigor with moving quickly when needed
  • Adaptable and flexible, just as happy designing complex workflows as you are clarifying error states

Bonus skills:

  • Experience designing in a regulated product landscape
  • Experience working with SaaS or data products in the health tech, particularly primary care
  • Competitive salary, depending on experience
  • Private Pension
  • Generous maternity/paternity leave
  • Hybrid working
