Shape the Face of Cancer Treatment at Luminate Medical

Luminate Medical is on a mission to change the way we experience cancer care. We design and build products which revolutionise the patient experience of cancer treatment. We’re currently building our flagship product Lily, a wearable medical device to prevent the hair loss caused by chemotherapy, and Lilac, our next-in-portfolio product to prevent peripheral nerve damage in chemotherapy patients.

We are looking for a Project Manager to lead the delivery of our product development programs through collaboration and aligning with R&D, Clinical, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Commercial and Operations colleagues. You will ensure the project tasks and milestones are achieved, both day-to-day and quarterly. Reporting to the PMO Manager, you will develop and track detailed project plans and continually assess risks and see the hurdles, before they appear!

You will need to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be passionate about working with people. Most of all, you will need to be driven by brining products to market quickly in order to deliver a making a real-world patient impact.

What You Will Do:

  • Plan
    • Develop project plans including key milestones, resources and budgets.
    • Utilise PM tools such as Gantt, Risk Registers and Progress Charts to track the project.
    • Work with the functional managers to ensure that timelines and milestones are aligned to functional KPIs.
  • Input
    • Manage all stages of the project in compliance with internal procedures.
    • Ensure daily and weekly objectives and tasks are being met for the project.
    • Work with the team to find solutions to project issues with an open mind, considering all stakeholder input & keeping in mind the impact of solutions.
    • Voice of customer: The PM will be responsible for ensuring that the voice of the customer is at the centre of the product for all design related decisions. They will continue to validate user needs with customers.
  • Analyse
    • Present project status-update on a biweekly basis to project team and management.
    • Clearly identify critical path of the project and status of key work packages.
    • Lead and contribute to the development of project management techniques and tools.
    • Assess areas of the project for alternative paths to improve timeline & reduce risks.
  • Communicate
    • Communicate project priorities & status, co-ordinate internal and external resources to algin with project timelines, scope and budget.
    • Establish and foster relationships with all internal and external project team members.
    • Identify and communicate internal and external resource constraints within the project to leadership team.
  • Risk Management
    • Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks on a continual basis.
    • Manage back up strategies for high risks.

Experience Requirements – The Ideal Candidate Must Have:

  • Qualification: Bachelors or Master’s in Science or Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • Experience:
    • 5 years’ experience working in a medical device product development role; PMO, DA or R&D.
    • Leadership experience with responsibilities for coordinating and aligning on objective with a multidisciplinary team.
    • Working within ISO13485 and ISO14971.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent interpersonal & communication.
    • Strong Planning & Organisational abilities.
    • Stakeholder influence and management.
    • MS Project, Team Gantt or other Gantt software.
    • Experience using different types of PM frameworks, including agile & critical path.
    • Budgeting & spend tracking.

Experience Advantages – It Would Be Advantageous to Have:

  • Qualification: Currently holding or actively pursuing a project management certification (CAPM, PMP).
  • Experience
    • Development of electromechanical medical device.
    • Proven examples of leading cross-functional device development projects.
    • Validation of products, test methods or processes for new products or technical transfer.
    • Working within ISO62304 and ISO60601.
