Road Freight is the largest distribution channel in the world. The $5 trillion industry is expected to double in the next 30 years. Road Freight has been a key enabler for humanity for the last century and is now facing disruptive challenges in sustainability, efficiency, and technology adoption.

We help Road Freight teams make a leap from being low-value employees spending time putting out fires and being single points of failure to adding value to operations where they interact with AI systems to build up company knowledge and market differentiation. A turn-key SaaS solution with no implementation costs and no lengthy ad-hoc customizations that allows small carriers to become digital at a fraction of the cost of an on-premise ERP or Transport Management System (TMS).

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow our engineering team as we scale our product and expand our technological footprint. You will be responsible for driving execution, shaping technical strategy, and ensuring engineering excellence across our platform. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with people management, empowering teams to deliver high-impact features that fundamentally improve how Road Freight carriers operate.

As an early leader in a fast-moving startup, you’ll help define engineering culture, system architecture, delivery processes, and team structure. This is an opportunity to join a mission-driven company at a pivotal stage and directly influence both product trajectory and engineering maturity.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of autonomy, ownership, and continuous learning.

• Partner closely with Product and Design to define roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and deliver high-quality product increments.

• Drive architectural decision-making and ensure long-term scalability, reliability, and performance of our platform.

• Establish and improve engineering processes around code quality, testing, release cycles, and observability.

• Own technical delivery end-to-end, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and aligned with strategic goals.

• Support hiring efforts by defining role requirements, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new engineers.

• Promote excellence in documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Balance the need for rapid iteration with sound engineering principles.

• Provide hands-on support in complex technical challenges, acting as a senior technical reference for the team.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of professional engineering experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or management role.

• Strong technical background in backend, data, or platform engineering (Python, Node.js, Go, or similar).

• Proven experience managing and scaling engineering teams in fast-paced environments.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and modern software development practices.

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams through ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and execute with focus.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to align technical decisions with business outcomes.

• Experience in startups, SaaS, logistics, or AI-driven products is a plus.

• Passion for building impactful products and shaping high-performing engineering cultures.
