What we're looking for

Here at Smartex we’re expanding our team of Customer Support Technicians who are trained to build, setup, and debug our hardware devices. These professionals receive ongoing training across all technical departments such as electronics, mechanical, firmware, and software. These team members are hands-on power-users who deal directly with our clients and partners, so excellent communication is very important. Our Technicians spend half of their time in our office in Porto and the other half traveling around the globe and visiting our office in Asia. As a Smartex Technician Intern, you learn what makes a great customer support team and work together with experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain Smartex devices in field and around the world.
Perform mechanical and electrical modifications on circular knitting machines.
Install and debug Smartex hardware.
Perform technical assessment of machines.
Collect mechanical and electrical data about circular knitting machines.
Troubleshoot and repair of technical issues, such as:
Mechanical
Electrical
Hardware
Network

Skills & Experience

Holder of a technical certificate or diploma in electricity, electronics, renewables, mechanics or similar;
Proven communication and interpersonal skills (we will ask you for references);
Hands-on mindset;
Fluent in English (mostly verbal).
Nice to have: You demonstrate literacy in productivity tools (Google Docs, Task Management) and the ability to learn new software.
