Joining our Event team within the B2B Enterprise Marketing team, this Event Marketing Manager will be dually responsible for two groupings of events: trade shows/conferences and bespoke/branded events. Both types include large industry-leading events and smaller intimate gatherings for execs – to meet different business objectives of growing the pipeline and nurturing client relationships.
The right person is highly creative and process oriented. A strong ability for inventing new ways to show up experientially, and the execution chops for seeing the events through and measuring success. The role works closely with creative and design, brand, content, sales, customer success, customer & partner marketing, and external vendors, and reports to our Senior Director of Event and Partner Marketing.

What you'll be doing:

  • Overall responsible for:
  • - Planning and executing events that match corporate and sales objectives;
    - Proven ability to generate new pipeline with qualified prospects while also nurturing existing client relationships;
    - Creative approaches for unique event experiences targeting decision-makers;
    - Reporting and communicating metrics/KPIs and continually optimizing.
  • Bespoke Sword-hosted events
  • - Help create and drive the execution of new bespoke events – like our annual Vision client summit – from conception to completion;
    - Sword-hosted events range from small exec white-glove gatherings to large thought leadership events; the ability to be successful at both types is key;
    - Creativity while always exuding our premium brand perception is needed;
    - Extreme detail and coordination of the invitees / attendees and our partners.
  • Industry trade shows & conferences
  • - Drive Sword’s presence through the planning, development, and execution of all parts of our sponsored commitments and smaller events surrounding the conference (exec dinners/unique experiences, partner networking events);
    - Acting as the lead point of contact for sponsorship selection and execution including contracting with finance, and oversee budgeting and approvals;
    - Shipping and ordering marketing materials (ability to lift packages of at least 15 pounds).

What you need to have:

  • 5+ years of relevant event experience, B2B marketing a strong plus;
  • Experience managing sponsored and hosted events;
  • Creative thinker with proven ability to bring ideas to life;
  • Extremely organized and a clear communicator;
  • Track record of strong relationships with Sales stakeholders;
  • Industry familiarity with B2B, SaaS, employee benefits, health plans labor/unions, and health tech is a plus;
  • Degree in Hospitality, Event Marketing, Communications, or a related degree;
  • Ability to drive strategy and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver on commitments;
  • Self-starter who can build rapport with cross-functional teams remotely and is passionate about our mission to free 2 billion people from physical pain;
  • Experience using project management tools, Salesforce and Marketo preferred.
