Sword Health is on a mission to free two billion people from pain as the world’s first and only end-to-end platform to predict, prevent and treat pain.
Delivering a 62% reduction in pain and a 60% reduction in surgery intent, at Sword, we are using technology to save millions for our 2,500+ enterprise clients across three continents. Today, we hold the majority of industry patents, win 70% of competitive evaluations, and have raised more than $300 million from top venture firms like Founders Fund, General Catalyst, and Khosla Ventures.
Recognized as a Forbes Best Startup Employer in 2023, this award highlights our focus on being a destination for the best and brightest talent. Not only have we experienced unprecedented growth since our market debut in 2020, but we’ve also created a remarkable mission and value-driven environment that is loved by our growing team. With a recent valuation of $2 billion, we are in a phase of hyper growth and expansion, and we’re looking for individuals with passion, commitment, and energy to help us scale our impact.
Joining Sword Health means committing to a set of core values, chief amongst them to “do it for the patients” every day, and to always “deliver more than expected” on behalf of our members and clients.
This is an opportunity for you to make a significant difference on a massive scale as you work alongside 800+ (and growing!) talented colleagues, spanning two continents. Your charge? To help us build a pain-free world, powered by technology, enhanced by people — accessible to all.
As Director of Product Marketing, you will be responsible for bringing new products to market, driving adoption and deeper engagement amongst benefits leaders and members, and mentoring our growing product marketing team.
The ideal candidate is a player-coach who is at ease working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with projects ranging from product strategy to positioning to creative development and execution. You are comfortable simultaneously managing multiple projects with a variety of stakeholders. Over the course of your career, you have developed excellent problem solving and communication skills. You have a growth mindset, are skilled at crafting impactful marketing, and know how to build a new category by defining and articulating the value of a portfolio of products.
What you'll be doing:
• Conduct in-depth market research to uncover insights about business and consumer audiences, including how Sword can help members on their journey to live pain free. Utilize findings and competitive analysis to inform product strategies, use cases, positioning, and go-to-market plans
• Serve as the voice of the customer with internal teams
• Craft compelling and differentiated product positioning and messaging that helps business and consumer audiences understand the value of Sword’s solutions
• Build and lead cross-functional go-to-market strategies for key product releases
• Collaborate with Product Management, Clinical, Design, Marketing, Communications, Sales, Enrollment, and other relevant teams, leading by influence to ensure effective execution of launch, adoption, and engagement plans
• Track performance of products, gather feedback from members, analyze behavior, and identify opportunities for product and marketing improvements
• Create internal- and external-facing sales and marketing collateral to support sales efforts and drive product adoption. Collaborate with Sales Enablement to develop training materials and ensure deep understanding of products by the relevant sales teams
• Craft external facing marketing campaigns and programs to drive awareness of Sword and our product innovations
• Lead, motivate, and develop an outcome-driven team, serving as a mentor to our growing product marketing group, while exhibiting the standard for high quality work
• Establish a culture that is conducive to attracting, retaining, and motivating a diverse group of top-quality product marketers at all levels
What you need to have:
• A desire to work for a mission-driven company that helps improve lives of our patients on a day-to-day basis
• 12+ years of relevant product marketing experience, with prior direct responsibility for leading product marketing teams while collaborating with brand and creative teams in a fast-paced environment
• Proven success developing and launching insights-driven, global go-to-market, product adoption, and awareness campaigns
• Strong background in making complex products easy to understand by diverse B2B and B2C (B2B2C) audiences
• Highly data-driven, with strong ability to use insights to frame recommendations
• Strategic thinker who also drives forward tactical execution
• Exemplary project management skills, with strong ability to juggle multiple priorities and excel in a lean and demanding work environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt and work effectively with a team
• Attention to detail and strong follow-through
• Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing teams
We'd Love to see:
• Outstanding interpersonal, coaching, creative, and strategic thinking skills with the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated ability for building culture with a mission-driven approach
• Advanced decision-making skills with proven ability to lead, influence, align, and inspire
teams, including those who are not direct reports
• Motivated by challenges
• Positive attitude with an eye for solutions and energy for rolling up your sleeves and doing whatever needs to be done. A problem solver who takes ownership and loves to learn
• High IQ and EQ. Leads with humility, integrity, and intellect
• Proven ability to re-prioritize and work quickly and efficiently
• Experience in both early stage (scrappy, get stuff done mentality, comfortable in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment) and later stage (ability to make stuff happen through influence)
To ensure you feel good solving a big Human problem, we offer:
• A stimulating, fast-paced environment with lots of room for creativity
