You will join our dynamic Systems team where you’ll play a pivotal role in the production and refurbishment of medical devices. Working closely with the Process Development Manager, you will focus on quality improvements, line expansion, process flow optimization, and process qualifications of production systems in our production facility in SLC. We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience working with production equipment in a manufacturing environment, is used to the dynamic work environment of supporting a high-output Production facility, and is obsessed with process and quality improvement to join our fast-growing company.
What you'll be doing:
- Maintain and enhance manufacturing equipment for Sword’s refurbishment processes;
- Production line optimizations directed by Process Development Manager (setting up, adjusting,, moving) process equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency;
- Work closely with line operators and production supervisors to identify opportunities for future quality and process improvement;
- Troubleshooting of Production equipment issues (custom equipment, utilities, computers, label printers, etc.);
- Updating equipment with new components and/or features (hardware and software) as new quality systems, tools, and products are introduced;
- Perform regular preventative and corrective maintenance and calibration on Production equipment;
- Perform data gathering such as yields, cycle times, failure modes;
- Coordinate with production operators to intake production problem notes, present them to management, and assist in implementation of solutions.
What you need to have:
- 2-4 years of experience as a manufacturing technician or similar role;
- Ability to work full-time, on-site in Salt Lake City, UT;
- Experience in manufacturing line maintenance;
- Proven ability to troubleshoot;
- General knowledge of electrical systems;
- Computer-literate - must be comfortable using computers, tablets, and software-based tools. Basic proficiency in MS Office, Google Drive, email, Slack, etc.;
- Experience interacting with production line staff - operators, supervisors, QC, etc.;
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
What we would love to see:
- Worked on medical devices, and proficiency in the regulatory requirements of development;
- Proficiency in Spanish, to facilitate communication with production specialists and operators.
