What's the opportunity about?

We are now looking to expand our Support Engineering team to contribute to the growth of our support capabilities..

As a File Engineering Specialist, will be responsible for writing, modifying, and debugging code for various applications, performing maintenance programming, and correcting identified defects. Additionally, the role involves providing consultancy on technical matters both to internal and external stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Write, modify, and debug code for single-threaded or user interface event-driven applications.
  • Test and document software; maintain and improve documentation and test coverage.
  • Investigate, analyze, and document reported defects.
  • Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects.
  • Respect, apply, and enforce the File Engineering Services.
  • Offer consultancy for internal teams on technical matters related to their projects, including optimal workflows and process automation.
  • Use critical thinking to improve workflows by automating filtering, using frameworks such as Okapi.
  • Track project/task changes using Jira service desk tickets.
  • Perform regular code reviews and ensure knowledge transfer globally.
  • Interpret written business requirements and technical specification documents.
  • Document workflows and processes, ensuring global knowledge transfer.
  • Convert documents from/into different formats.
  • Provide word counts for non-standard (un-editable) files (e.g., PDF, JPEG, BMP).
  • Support complex requests involving XML, XLIFF, properties, strings, PO file types.
  • Track project/task changes using Zendesk and Jira.
  • Communicate effectively and exchange information promptly to complete tasks.


Requirements

  • Near-native level of English with a fully fluid discourse and a superb vocabulary toolkit (absolutely mandatory);
  • Superlative phone and written contact handling skills and active listening;
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, preferably Zendesk;
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters;
  • Strong and determined troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively;
  • Degree or equivalent professional experience;
  • Proactivity, empathy and autonomy;
  • Knowledge of FTP, HTTP, SSH protocols, and REST.
  • Familiarity with SVN and Git code versioning systems.
  • Basic use of office suite software.
  • Basic understanding of company architecture and services, including tools and resources (e.g., ticketing systems, server software).
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to follow coding and design standards.
  • Ability to estimate task timelines, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to write well-structured and consistently formatted code.
  • Proficiency in debugging and addressing difficult-to-test code areas.
