Product Assurance Engineer (Senior)

München, Remote
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

With thousands of satellites in orbit and the number growing fast, the reliability and safety of every component, process, and supplier relationship is not a formality. It is what keeps missions alive. Vyoma is building Europe's sovereign space surveillance capability: a fleet of in-orbit sensors and a powerful software suite to track space debris and protect active satellites in low-Earth orbit.

As our Senior Product Assurance (PA) Engineer, you will own and continuously evolve Vyoma's internal PA framework: the quality management system, risk processes, software PA, and the requirements we place on our suppliers. You will develop and maintain Vyoma's PA requirement catalogue and tailor it for each project and proposal context. You will work directly with engineering, mission, and business teams.

This is not a role for someone who enforces standards from a distance. You will be embedded with the engineering team, making PA a practical enabler of mission success rather than a bureaucratic overhead. Your work will directly shape what Vyoma builds, how we build it, and whether it works.

Your profile

As part of Vyoma you will:
  • Build and own the internal PA system: Develop, implement, and continuously improve Vyoma’s quality management system (QMS), including NCR processes, risk management, document control, and configuration management — pragmatically adapted for a lean NewSpace environment.
  • PA requirement catalogue: Own and continuously develop Vyoma’s internal PA requirement catalogue. Tailor it appropriately for each project and proposal — balancing rigour with the realities of a lean, fast-moving NewSpace environment.
  • Supplier PA: Develop and maintain Vyoma’s supplier PA requirements, conduct supplier audits, manage NCRs, and track corrective actions through to closure.
  • Software PA: Define and evolve software product assurance requirements across the development lifecycle, adapted to Vyoma’s lean and agile development practices. Requirements are applied in a criticality-based manner — the rigour scales with the safety and mission impact of the software item.
  • EEE parts and radiation: Review and assess suppliers’ EEE parts approaches, including parts selection, screening, and radiation hardness assurance (RHA) — ensuring they meet Vyoma’s requirements for the space environment.
  • Reviews and compliance: Prepare and support internal and external project reviews (PDR, CDR, QR, AR). Ensure PA deliverables are ready, complete, and traceable.
  • Drive PA culture: Act as the internal reference point for quality and assurance topics. Make PA practical and valued by the engineering team, not a bureaucratic overhead.

Why us?

  • We nurture your growth. Our employees are key to the success of Vyoma, that is why we want you to grow fast and assume greater responsibility. We also invest in your training while on the job.
  • Transparency. At each step of the way, from recruitment to onboarding to having a permanent position, you will know where you stand and have a clear roadmap, with timeline, goals and expectations.
  • Accountability and Feedback. Fostering open and direct lines of communication is crucial for the success of individuals and our teams, that is why we encourage people to speak up and maintain flat hierarchies.
  • Your time is valuable. Work should not trump private life, that is why we offer 30 days of holidays, the possibility to work from home, and flexible working hours.
  • The perks. Effort should be compensated appropriately, which is why we offer a competitive salary, a private pension plan, transportation allowances, 5 days of paid sick leave for childcare per year for all parents and other benefits.
  • We are all social animals. We don't just work hard, but we know how to have fun together during our weekly Happy Hours and Game Nights.

About us

Vyoma is on a mission to solve one of the big issues humanity faces today: the problem of space debris threatening active satellites in orbit. We are building a fleet of space cameras to monitor such space debris. Together with our software suite, we build an accurate catalogue of space objects, automate satellite operations for our customers, and ultimately keep our orbits clean and safe. We are a young and international team of aerospace engineers and software developers, backed by some of the top investors and venture capitalists in Germany.

Our offices are located very centrally in Munich (Bonner Platz). Amongst others, you can expect a great (very international) team atmosphere, highly qualified colleagues, flexible working hours, remote/hybrid work, and a very exciting company vision.
